The svelte Oppo R7, the subject of a ton of leaks over the last couple of weeks,
could be unveiled on May 20th according to the latest speculation involving the device. Besides the rumored unveiling date, the most recent talk around the water cooler includes the possibility that Oppo will unveil a premium version of the handset called the Oppo R7 Plus. The big attraction would be a larger capacity battery than the 2000mAh juicer expected on the R7. Oppo is limited when it comes to battery size for the handset due to the extremely thin footprint of the model.
Some new renders of the Oppo R7 appeared today, and these show a handset that has a thin, metal build similar to what we've seen with other leaked pictures of this device. On the other hand, the bezel-less design of the display has been replaced by a screen that does show a thin border around it. And that button below the screen looks like the fingerprint scanner employed by the HTC One M9 Plus.
Before we jump to conclusions about these renders, we need to consider the possibility that these are older prototypes of the Oppo R7, or a completely different device altogether. On the other hand, this could very well be a legitimate look at what could soon be the thinnest smartphone on the planet.
